It is interesting watching the global news in the past few months and also reading blogs and news reports about Panama, what has become clear to me is that many writers seem to want a down turn market here in Panama. The articles that are written and the comments that have been made seem to demand a collapse in the Real Estate market in Panama. However what i see happening is a return to a normal market in Panama, not a collapse. But what does that actually mean?
First and foremost please understand the market here has slowed down i would be a fool to say otherwise, but has the market stopped like it has in the majority of the markets around the world. No! Surely this would point to good news for the market and for Panama in general. Just because selling pre construction units with nice renderings has almost gone extinct doesn't ring the bell for the end of class. I thought Real Estate sales included selling constructed property and 2 nd or 3rd generation resales. the market has changed and now we have to sell the real thing, if that sounds like to much hard work then maybe those people should find a different vocation. I personally find the market today more realistic than it was 12 months ago. We have to use words like comparisons and appraisals and all those good words we had to use years ago, when selling real estate was a real profession and required knowledge of the the area and current trends. The markets in the USA seems to be stabilising and lets face it, they couldn't get much worse. Certain areas have been hit harder than others but they will come back, reason being the demand was high before. Florida and the Disney area will come back just because of the parks. Miami because of the beaches and the life style. What Panama and the blog writers out there should be doing is to tell people how much better and stronger the market will be in Panama. This small country hasn't collapsed and buyers around the world should be told this. Panama is and has proven to be a great place to invest. Now is the time for the experienced agents to get out there and sell property. I wonder what will happen to all those people who jumped on the doom and gloom wagon? Remember its easy to talk gloom because if your right you can call yourself and expert and if your wrong who cares everyone is just happy you was wrong. Me i am no expert but i truly believe Panama will make it through the storm. Might not be as easy as most people thought it would be, and some larger companies that are based on volume sales might fold but that is just business all good things come to an end. Bottom line, lets have some cheer for Panama enough with the doom and gloom. |
