Area like Avenida Balboa still remain very popular with buyers probably due to the completion of the new roads along the Balboa making for a much more pleasant view out across the ocean and less congestion on the roads.

 

The is still a great deal of discrepancy in prices here in Panama mainly due to the lack of a MLS.

 

The is still the odd bargain to be had from a buyer looking to sell their property prior to completion, but once the property is closed owners are happy to keep there condo or home and will be happy to hold onto their Real Estate until a buyer comes along that is willing to pay there asking price.

 

Prices have come down from the highs of 2008 but these were hyped up prices that never really existed only in the minds of hungry speculators.

 

Common sense dictates that a property should appreciate around 6-10% annually. This being the case Prices in Panama are still strong and the effects of the recession felt in the USA and Europe have only brought the speculators back down to earth with a thud.

 

Buyers will always try and talk prices down  but to many people for to long have been listening to these people and have started to believe them.

 

The truth is sales have slowed down, pre construction is at a halt but there is still plenty of life in the resale market here in Panama.

 

Buyers looking for a sound investment in a stable country with superb weather and a growing economy should take a long hard look at Panama.
