Santa Catalina

How to get there?

From Panama City, drive through the Panamerican Highway to the central provinces, until you reach Santiago, province of Veraguas. Once in Santiago, ask for directions to get to the beach.

 

Gobernadora Island

If you want an adventurous trip, to a remote island, away from civilization, where you will be able to have a first hand encounter with nature, your destiny should be Gobernadora Island. The trip in itself will be an unforgettable experience, since you will be able to see beautiful dolphins playing beside your boat or whales looking for our warm Panamanian waters to give birth to their offspring. How to get there?

From Panama City, take the Panamerican Highwaystowards the central provinces, towards Santiago. From then on, Gobernadora Island can be reached, from the different ports located on the south coast of Veraguas (Santa Catalina, Hicaco, Puerto Mutis, Puerto Vidal, Pixvae, others); the closest one is Hicaco in Soná, and the island is just 30 minutes away, and just with good climate and a 40 horse power motor, you can get to this gorgeous island. To get to Hicaco only follow the route that will take you to the beach of Santa Catalina; follow the signs for Hicaco beach.
